Guest Robin Washington talks about Hanukkah. The editor-at-large of the Forward, Robin Washington grew up in a Chicago family of Black and Jewish civil rights activists. He participated in sit-ins and protests when he was three years old — events he recalls fondly as “family outings.” A journalist and filmmaker, he has gone on to chronicle the movement in his acclaimed PBS documentary, “You Don’t Have to Ride Jim Crow!”

Guest Cicely Hicks will speak about Kwanzaa. Hicks is a native of Hot Springs, AR and a graduate of Lakeside High School. Since completing her Bachelor of Science in Child & Family Studies at Baylor University, Cicely has worked in case management, social services, and mental health support roles with children and families in California, Texas, and Arkansas.
